The ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS), held this year from October 14–18 in Salt Lake City, USA, is one of the foremost conferences for information security and privacy experts worldwide. ACM CCS brings together security researchers, practitioners, developers, and academics to share knowledge, present research, and network. This year's event attracted over 1,100 attendees, fostering an environment for collaboration and innovation.
As part of this event, TikTok's Privacy Innovation team had the privilege of participating as a Gold sponsor and hosting a meetup, creating a space for in-depth conversations on privacy, data security, and cutting-edge privacy-preserving technologies. As a conference sponsor, our team was able to amplify its commitment to privacy and security within this global community.
TikTok Privacy Innovation hosts a meetup
Our meetup was a focal point for attendees interested in privacy-preserving technologies at TikTok. Over 50 participants attended, eager to engage in discussions with our team and explore our approaches to privacy. The meetup offered a valuable networking opportunity for attendees to connect with TikTok research scientists and industry experts, reinforcing our dedication to building an open-source community of privacy enthusiasts.
The meetup kicked off with our Privacy Innovation team sharing insights into TikTok's approach to privacy-preserving technologies. Our research scientists discussed ongoing projects like ManaTEE and the innovative methods we employ to help protect user data.
ManaTEE is a project that leverages secure hardware and privacy-enhancing cryptographic techniques to ensure data confidentiality. It allows secure computation of encrypted data, empowering users with both functionality and privacy. You can learn more about ManaTEE in our donation announcement.
