TikTok for Developers
Introducing Sandbox
Developer products

TikTok for Developers offers a wide variety of features that developers can add to their apps: Login Kit, Share Kit, Content Posting API, and other various products allow developers to tap into TikTok's content ecosystem and extend their app's reach. Developers must submit their app for TikTok to review before integrations can launch, but it can be helpful to test out different integrations before submission.

To help with app creation and testing, we're excited to announce Sandbox mode for TikTok for Developers apps!

Sandbox mode is a restricted environment that allows you to try out integrations without having to submit your app for review. You can create multiple sandboxes for your app to experiment with different configurations, without compromising the live version of your app.

Getting started with Sandbox

To add a sandbox, start by visiting your Manage apps page.

  1. Select an app.
  2. On the app page, switch the toggle next to your app's name to Sandbox.
  1. Click the Create Sandbox button, then enter a name. You can choose to clone an existing configuration from your app's production versions or another sandbox.
  2. After clicking Confirm, configure the sandbox by editing App details and adding products.
  3. Click Apply changes to save changes and make your configuration take effect.

You can create up to 5 sandboxes.

For more information, check out our Sandbox documentation.

More Sandbox features

You can share your Sandbox with up to 10 other TikTok accounts by adding target users. These target users can try out your sandbox configurations independently.

When you're satisfied with your Sandbox, you can import your Sandbox configuration to a Draft of your app in Production mode to get it ready for submission.

Submitting your app

Once you've tested out your app in Sandbox, make sure it follows our App Review Guidelines before submitting it for approval. Good luck! We can't wait to see what you create.

If you've created an app using Sandbox and want to share it with us and the TikTok for Developers community, make sure to use #tiktokfordevs and tag us @TikTokForDevs on TikTok, Twitter/X, and LinkedIn.
