To ensure a successful submission to the Data Portability API, please review these guidelines for each question carefully, including the FAQ. If your application does not meet the criteria below, you may be required to resubmit your application or be requested to provide more details, which may delay your application's review.

#Login Kit integration is required for API access

The Data Portability API works together with Login Kit. Login Kit is the component that allows a TikTok user to log in and grant your app consent to access their data the consent that every Data Portability API request is based on.

This means there are two separate approvals, and you need both before you can make data requests:

1. Data Portability API application: Reviewed against the guidelines listed on this page; approves your app's access to the portability scopes you selected.
2. Login Kit integration: Reviewed separately; approves the login and consent flow for your app.

To avoid delays:

• Add Login Kit (and Webhooks, if you want request-ready notifications) to your app at the same time as the Data Portability API product, and complete their configuration — the reviews can then progress in parallel.
• Track the status of each product on your app page. An approved Data Portability API application with a pending or rejected Login Kit integration will show as approved scopes, but the API will not be usable yet.
• If your integration with Login Kit does not pass app review, the reason for rejection is shown in the developer console; you can resubmit after making the corrections. Your Data Portability API approval remains valid in the meantime.
• If both products show as approved but you still cannot access the API, submit a support ticket with Data Portability API as the Topic.

#Application requirements

Submit your entire application in English, including the UX mockups and any other uploads. Select only the data scopes your stated use case requires.

#Application details

2. Applicant email address

Use an email address that matches your business/organization domain. TikTok may reach out to this person about the application.

3. Organization name

Please ensure that your business/organization is accurately entered.

4. Organization website

Please check that your website is live and working as expected, and is not a holding page or otherwise incomplete website.

5. TikTok representative email

Optional: If you have a contact at TikTok you already work with, you can enter their email address here. We may reach out to them if there are issues with your application.

6. App ID

Please ensure your App ID is correct and matches the app that you intend to make a submission for (if you have multiple apps). To view a list of your apps and their corresponding App IDs, log in to your TikTok for Developers account, click the profile icon, then click Manage apps.

#Data scope and use case

1. What is the primary purpose of your application for the Data Portability API?

Select the option that best describes why you are applying for the Data Portability API. If none of the listed purposes fits, select "Other" and describe your intended purpose in detail.

2. Data scope(s) required

Select every data scope your use case requires. Only select scopes that are strictly necessary for the purpose you declared. For a definition of each scope and the data types it covers, see the data types here.

3. Explain the specific feature or function in your application that requires this data scope

Provide this explanation separately for each data scope you selected. Describe the exact feature or function that requires the scope, and how the UX flow demonstrated in your uploaded mockups matches it. A single generic explanation covering all selected scopes will not be accepted.

4. How often will your application access the selected data scope

For each selected data scope, indicate whether you need one time only or one time and ongoing access, and explain why the selected frequency is necessary. If you select one time and ongoing, describe how often the data will be refreshed and why continuous access (rather than a single transfer) is required.

5. Upload high-fidelity UX mockups

Your upload must match your previous answers and demonstrate the end-to-end user journey to exemplify how the requested data scopes will be used. This also includes showing four distinct screens that clearly illustrate each step outlined below.Your app must clearly inform users what data will be transferred to TikTok and for what purpose. By requiring high-fidelity UX mockups, TikTok aims to ensure that users are being provided with adequate information before proceeding with a transfer:

	TikTok connection page Show the initial option(s) where users can see "Connect to TikTok", or similar. Demonstrate where your users can select TikTok to connect it to your product or service.
	Connecting to TikTok Display to users that your service is connecting to TikTok. Give users the ability to "Proceed", "Go back", or similar. Clearly explain to the user what is happening, including an outline of the data being shared and an explanation of why this data is being requested.
	Confirmation of connection Show TikTok's login authorization page. This is TikTok's page that cannot be modified. However, please include this page in your UX mockups to demonstrate when it is expected to appear in the user journey.
	Final output / result Demonstrate confirmation that your app successfully connected to TikTok. If applicable, this page can also show the user output (synced data, complied data, and more).

#Data deletion and user rights

The proof must clearly show the entry point (or request channel), the submission or confirmation step, and the post-deletion completion state (or acknowledgement that the request was received).
